Little Brother

60-second video commercial for UNCF

This memorable commercial, starring a young Courtney Vance for the United Negro College Fund (“A mind is a terrible thing to waste”), is deemed “A Classic” by the Ad Council, who produced it. At the time, Vance was appearing on Broadway in the original production of FENCES starring James Earl Jones. “Little Brother” was also shown by the US State Department to The Soviet Union during perestroika as an example of outstanding American public service advertising.

Colgate Palmolive Annual Report

This “Smiling Globe” has been the unofficial logo for CP Dental Care worldwide for over 31 years now. It is currently on every box of Colgate toothpaste sold in the US and was recently used for a 2020 CP Quarterly report, almost two decades after this appearance. A rare example of an advertising art director’s work becoming final art.
